Anuradhapura - Let us explore some of ancient Sri Lanka's rich cultural past with a visit to the city of Anuradhapura. The city of Anuradhapura was built in the 4th Century BE and not only was it the first capital of ancient Sri Lanka but also the greatest, most important, and extensive of Sri Lanka's ancient cities. The monuments and ruins stand testimony to the rich cultural heritage with stupendous sculptures and giant statues of Lord Buddha carved in and around the buildings along with many other sculptures depicting various court scenes, people and animals like the giant seven hooded cobra with flared hood as seen on the walls of the Jethavana Stupa.
After the Breakfast proceed to visit 08 sacred places in Anuradhapura. In the evening Leisure at the Hotel.
After an early breakfast at the hotel leave for the town of Jaffna. After a 5 hour journey arrive in Jaffna for lunch and to explore the lost town. Visit the now restored Jaffna Library, the iconic Nallur Temple
Set off to the island of Nagadeepa which houses a temple and kovil. A 15-minute boat ride from the coast is the only possible access to the island. After returning have lunch and continue onto the Keeri Malai Kovil & Freshwater Pond.
Trincomalee houses one of the largest natural harbors in the world. Recently it had been a base for the Sri Lankan Army and Navy but now it remains an amazing multicultural town with roots dating back to Marco Polo. Spend the evening at the pool and tuck in early for a tour of the town is eminent the next day.
You have the option of an excursion to Pigeon Island. Named after the Rock Pigeon that colonized it the island, it has some of the best coral sites in Sri Lanka. Thereafter, visit Trincomalee War Cemetery one of the six commonwealth war cemeteries in Sri Lanka.
After breakfast head out to Pasikudah. Pasikudah is a popular tourist destination boasting one of the longest stretches of shallow coastline in the world. Walk kilometers into the ocean with it only reaching your knees, a truly amazing experience.
Leisure at the Hotel
After breakfast proceed to Kandy, while visiting the Rock Cave Temple in Dambulla and Spice Garden Matale en route. Later in the evening witness a Cultural Dance performance.
After breakfast proceeds to visit Tooth Relic Temple and Botanical Garden in Kandy. Visit Gem Museum and View point in Kandy. After Lunch proceeds to Bentota. Dinner and overnights stay in Bentota.
After breakfast proceeds to Galle. Visit Stilt Fishermen, Galle Fort, Tsunami Museum, Hikkaduwa Beach, and Madu river boat safari.
After breakfast proceeds to Colombo city tour, Shopping, and transfer to Airport.
