Upon arrival, your journey begins in Chilaw. You will visit the Munneswaram Temple, where Lord Rama is said to have prayed to Lord Shiva to seek remedy for the Brahmahatya Dosha (the sin of killing a Brahmin) after the war. Nearby lies the Manavari Temple, home to the first Ramalingam installed by Rama—one of only two such lingams in the world (the other being in Rameswaram, India).
Overnight: Kandy/Dambulla

Travel into the heart of the hill country to Ramboda. Here, you will visit the Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple, built on the hills where Hanuman is believed to have begun his search for Sita Devi. The site offers a majestic view of the areas Hanuman traversed. Later, explore the "Little England" of Sri Lanka, Nuwara Eliya.
Overnight: Nuwara Eliya

Visit the Seetha Amman Temple in Seetha Eliya, the traditional site of the Ashoka Vatika where Sita was held captive. You can see the stream where she bathed and the massive "footprints" on the rocks, believed to be Hanuman’s. The day concludes at Divurumpola Temple, the sacred ground where Sita Devi performed the Agni Pariksha (trial by fire) to prove her purity.
Overnight: Nuwara Eliya

Descend to Ella to witness the Ravana Ella Falls and the nearby caves where Ravana is said to have hidden Sita. Afterward, drive back toward the capital to visit the Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara. This is the hallowed site where, after the death of Ravana, Lord Rama crowned Vibhishana as the King of Lanka.
Overnight: Colombo

Before your flight, visit the Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple in Colombo. This is the first temple in Sri Lanka dedicated to Hanuman in his five-faced form and the only one in the world with a chariot for the deity. Enjoy a brief city tour and shopping before your transfer to the airport.
citizens require an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization). In 2026, the process is streamlined online, and travelers must ensure their passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival.
The ideal time is from December to April, especially for sites in the central highlands like Nuwara Eliya and Ella. However, the spiritual trail is open year-round, with the August/September festivals at Munneswaram and Kataragama being high-demand periods.
Most sacred sites like Seetha Amman Temple and Munneswaram do not charge an entrance fee, though donations are encouraged. However, sites within national parks or botanical gardens (like Ashoka Vatika/Hakgala) and archaeological sites like Sigiriya do require paid tickets.
Yes, the limestone shoals of Ram Setu can be viewed from Talaimannar in Mannar. For the best experience, we recommend a boat tour or an aerial view via a chartered flight, as much of the bridge remains submerged.
Modest attire is mandatory. Shoulders and knees must be covered. It is customary to remove footwear and hats before entering the temple premises. Wearing white is considered a sign of respect.
