Lanka Tour Host started Paw to Paw with Chanali Mahasinghe, a Miss World Sri Lanka 2026 contestant, to care for orphaned puppies and abandoned stray dogs in Sri Lanka.

Why the stray dogs

Travel anywhere in Sri Lanka and you will meet its street dogs: asleep in the shade at a temple gate, waiting outside the village shop, walking the beach at sunset. Some belong to a whole street that feeds them. Others are puppies born by the roadside, or dogs that someone left behind, with nobody to look after them.

Paw to Paw was started for those dogs: the orphaned puppies and the abandoned ones.

What Paw to Paw does

Paw to Paw’s motto is “Every paw matters”. Its work has four parts, which it calls the P.A.W.S. framework:

  • Protect: rescue, shelter and safety for stray dogs and cats.
  • Awareness: teaching communities to treat street animals with kindness and responsibility.
  • Wellness: food, vaccinations, sterilisation and medical care.
  • Second chances: adoption, fostering and loving homes.

How your tour helps

We set aside 2% of the profit from every tour to support Paw to Paw. It comes out of our share, so you pay nothing extra and there is nothing to sign up for. When you travel with us, part of what we earn goes to the dogs.
